Technique • Good mornings are an isolation exercise that hits the lower back and uses the glutes and hamstrings as secondary muscles. • place a barbell across the back of your shoulders. • The bar shoulder rest on the trap muscles, not the back of the neck. • Stand up straight, with a straight back, and eyes facing forward. Lower yourself down until your back is about parallel with the floor. Do not pause at the bottom of the exercise, immediately start raising to the start position. Repeat for desired reps.
Spotting • You will not need a spotter. • You may need proper instruction from a exercise professional.
Major muscles involve • Primary muscles- Back • Secondary- Hamstrings
Variations • Chest down good morning exercise. • Stand holding a barbell across your shoulders, as if you were going to do a squat. • Make sure you have a tight grip on the bar. • Now tuck your chin down as you bend forward at the waist and hips. • Move downward slowly and carefully. • Inhale as you raise back upwards. Repeat.
