Goals of the National Team Program • 1. To prepare our top teams for podium performances in World and Olympic events. • 2. To recognize our top teams through funding that will assist them in realizing their/our goals. • 3. To recognize and develop our young curling athletes who have future podium potential.

National Team ProgramLa Releve -2010-2011 • 50 top young athletes under the age of 32 • La Releve Training Camp –Edmonton –April 2011 • Equal number of women / men • Trained for four days under the NTP coaching staff + Jeff Stoughton, Cathy Overton, Marcel Rocque, Mark Dacey, Mark Johnston, et al.
National Team ProgramLa Releve 2011-2012 • Our top 20 La Releve athletes will receive 4,000 dollars each towards Competition and Training this season • This program is under the direction of National Coaches Paul Webster, Helen Radford, and Melissa Soligo.
Sport Canada - Carding “A “ carded athletes • Carding is a program of Sport Canada • Recognizes past performance through funds to train for future podium performances. • Each athlete receives $1,500 per month for a two year cycle. ( tax free funds ) • This amounts to $144,000 over the two years for each team on the carding program.
“A” Carded Teams • Year 1 of two year cycle Teams: Amber Holland Jeff Stoughton • Year 2 of two year cycle Teams: Jennifer Jones Kevin Martin
“ D ” CardedIndividual Athletes • The “D” Card or Developmental Card is targeted for athletes who have excelled on the CTRS but are not funded in the “A” card area. -These 18 athletes (9 women and 9 men) receive $900 per month for a one year cycle. (tax free). ($10,800 total)

Junior La Releve • Selected Member Associations will be offered funds to help develop our emerging athletes (early teens) • Teams and individuals with exceptional ability at an early age will be offered assistance to develop their skills.
