  2. The Clock is Always Ticking • On Friday, October 10, 2014 • We are: • 255days to Baku LEN Junior / I European Games • 295 days to Kazan / FINA LC World Championships • 326 days to Singapore / FINA World Junior Championships • 664 days to Rio / Olympic Games

Objectives • To Promote National Team Unity • To Develop National Team Psychology • To Reach New Goals by Medaling in Power International Events • To Develop our Best Swimmers • To Educate • To Change in order to Improve Turkey Swimming at all levels • To Develop a new “race fit” generation of swimmers

  4. Long Term Goals • long term development and season planning focused on two performance windows per year highlighting the European Games/LEN Championships, FINA World and Junior World Championships, Regional events and Olympic Games between 2014 and 2020 • a. sound competition and training calendar (camps, selection of athletes and coaches) • b. proper allocation of resources and development of High Performance Centers • Identify potential National Team athletes and coaches that are committed to long term development and willing to work together for our common good based on Turkish National Competition results and international events

Short Term Goals • define explicit policies and procedures that will enable our National Team to operate in the most efficient manner • create new education and sponsorship opportunities for coaches, athletes, parents, TYF staff and officials • establish an electronic entry, time and information management system for all events. • win medals at all international events (Youth, Junior and Senior)

  6. National Team Development • Get to know the coaches by establishing a mutual and trusting relationship along with their staff/unifying the theme that the Clubs and National Team will be healthier when both do better at all levels and especially at the International Level. • Only through dialogue and communication can we create a new system that will render the desired results • Club visits - share high performance information along with topics of local and regional interest.

  7. Mental and Physical Development of the athlete • develop athletes that are race fit and prepared for all competitions. Expectations are high and results are expected at every stop. • increase number of events swum by athletes at National and International events • improve race day procedures at all events • athletes between the ages of 12 and 17 are the key • the window for aerobic development is now • our main focus is to empower the athletes by addressing their Mental Tool Development

  8. “Race Fit” Athletes • Competitions and Training Camps • establish multiple yearly training camps for the National and Junior National Team members that will compliment their training schedule and long term goals. • Competitions in Europe and USA, FINA WC and GP events. • Exchanges with other International Powers = Turkcell Project, Marseilles, Spain

International Events for 2014 • October 17-19 Compiegne Mercieres Meeting International • November 8-9 Camp in Istanbul focus on fitness, starts, turns, race preparation, National Team Psychology and stroke analysis • November 19-24 Meeting Internationale, Legnano , Italy • December 3-7 FINA World Championships in Doha, Qatar (9 weeks = 12/5) • December 12-14 Amsterdam Cup in Holland

International Events for 2015 • January - Catalunya Championships in Barcelona (date TBD) • January 23 - February 15 Training camp in Colorado USA or Olympic Training Center in Puerto Rico • February 12-15 Orlando Grand Prix in Florida (20wks) • March 6-8 Mediterranean Open at Marseille, France for 16 athletes and 5 coaches • March 9-15 Training Camp In Marseille

International Events for 2015 • June 23-27 - 1st European Games will serve as LEN Junior Championships in Baku ( • July 3-4 Open de France Vichy Val d Alliers • July 19 - 29 Training Camp for FINA WC and FINA Junior WC • August 2 - August -9 FINA World Championships, Kazan, Russia • August 14-15 - FINA World Cup in Chartres France • September 1-6 FINA World Junior Championship in Singapore

The positive development of the athlete and the importance of the family • a.       the positive relationship between the coach, the athlete, the club  and the parents • 1. nutrition / rest / commitment / results / understanding schedule / goals • b.      a unique balance: the art and science of coaching with the family in mind • B.       Educating the athletes

Focus Areas • Selection of National Team athletes and staff for future events • Rules • Clearly define all rules, procedures for athlete and coach selection criteria regarding international events, camps and seminars • Identify the Team leaders, Develop a Winning Attitude, Team is Always FIRST, Pre-Meet Preparation, TURKIYE!
