  2. LEGAL ACTS CONCERNING STUDENT STANDARD • Law on Higher Education • Law on Subsidization of Student Alimentation • Law on Labor Relations • Law on Scholarships • Law on Health Care and Health Insurance • Other acts

STUDENT LABOUR • In Slovenia every student is entitled to work on a special regulation according to the Law on Labour Relations • Students do not sign a classic contract rather they use a special agreement (Študentska napotnica) • According to tax regulations students receive a special tax relief • So you can earn about 2959,60+4,959,60=7919,2 EUR without paying any tax

  4. STUDENT ALIMENTATION • Students can buy special coupons for student alimentation in different restaurants • Alimentation is subsidized – 2,35 EUR • You can buy a coupon if you’re not employed

  5. SCHOLARSHIPS (I.) • Three types – state scholarship, scholarship for the talented, staff scholarship • State grants are awarded to beneficiaries whose average monthly income per family member during the preceding calendar year does not exceed 60% (65 %) • Zois scholarship can obtain a student who: - Is in the final grade of primary school average grade of at least 4.5 or more and was identified as a gifted pupil, or - In the high school average grade of at least 4.1 or more and was identified as a gifted student, or - A graduate of the overall enormous success /suma cum laudae/- In the higher education or higher average rating of at least 8.5 or greater, according to the average estimate among the best 5% of students in his generation

SCHOLARSHIPS (II.) • State scholarship is 54 EUR for students. • Zois scholarship is 94 EUR for students • Scholarships shall be granted the following allowances: - Addition in respect of income in the family grantees - The nature and scope of education, - The teaching and study success - Education outside the residence, - Allowance for grantees with special needs.

  7. HEALTH INSURANCE • A child that is not itself an insured, is health insured as a family member up to the 18th years of age or if attending a school to the its end but not more than up to the 26th years of age. • So students receive full coverage of medical care cost

  8. SUBSIDIZED TRANSPORT • Slovenia subsidizes transport services for students who are learning at a distance of five kilometers or more from the place of residence, and up to a maximum of 70% of the full price of a monthly ticket, depending on the social situation and the distance from the place of education

  9. SUBSIDIZED HOUSING • The subsidy is at least 20% of the average monthly price of the stay. Subsidy is provided for up to 12 months of the year and for each academic year at the new calculation.
