Searching for trainers • Noticespublished on ourprojectwebsite • Noticespublished on otherwebsites/portalswithvariousannouncements (‘classifiedads’, jobnotices) • Database of contacts to trainers we alreadycooperatedwithorwhosenttheirCVs to us • Contactswithothercompanies/institutions for recommendation
Selectionprocess • In someprojectstrainersarechosen on thebasis of ‘an offerinquiry’ (similar to call for tenders) • TheprocedureresultsfromtheHuman Capital OperationalProgrammeassumptions (so called „rule of competitiveness") • Offerinquiryispublished on projectwebsite for min. 10 days and everyonewhomeetsspecificrequirements and agrees for therules of cooperationmayreply and send his/heroffer
Requirements • Educationalbackground: • highereducation • highereducation „compatible with” the training field (e. g. English Philology/ Linguisticsgradutes for English courses/trainings) • Experience/qualifications: • Min. 2 or 3 years of experience in conductingtrainings for adults • Specificnumber of hours of trainingsalreadycarried out within a given field (min. 150/200 hrs) • Additionally: certificateconfirmingpedagogical/ methodology/trainer’sskills
Employment • Civil-lawagreements (commissioncontractorcontract for specifictask) to prepare and carry out a training • Employed as a physical person or on thebasis of business activityconducted by thetrainer • Employedonly for the period of a giventrainingwithin a project
Contact/communicationwithtrainers • Beforethetraining(directly and via email) • To set and explaintherules of cooperation • To signthecontract • To set thedeadlines • Duringthetraining (directly) • To checkthequality of work • To monitor thecourse of a training • To presenttheresults of evaluationquestionnairefilledin by participants • Attheend of thetraining (directly and via email) • To closethetraining(examination) • To settleallduesresultingfromthecontract • To presenttheresults of evaluationquestionnairefilledin by participants
Keydutiesresultingfromtheagreement • Preparing materials for participants • Keeping to the agenda/timetable • Preparing and participating in tests/exams • Keeping and filling in trainingdocuments (daily agenda, attendancelists, detailedprogramme etc.) • Currentcommunication with theorganiser (Deinde) as for anyproblemsconcerning: participants, course of thetraining etc.
Testingprocess Theprocedureresultsfromtheprojectassumptions: • Initial test atthebeginning of training to checkthelevel of knowledge • Examattheend of thetraining questionsfromtheInitial test to comparetheresults (growth of knowledge) and additionalquestionsrelated to thetrainingarea • Sometimes, placement test (e.g. languagecourses)
Evaluation of thetrainer (I) Areas of evaluation: • Knowledge and thematicpreparation to the subject • Methods of teaching • Conformity of the content to the trainingprogramme • Form of the training/methodology (balancebetweentheory and practice) • Communication, conveing the message/ content (clarity, accessibility etc.) • General attitude to participants,behaviour/goodmanners, punctuality etc.
Evaluation of thetrainer (II) • During the trainingprocess: • After min. 20 hrs – anonymousquestionnairefilled in by the participants • Then: direct interview with the trainer – evaluatingboth the trainerhimself/herself and the group • Then: directinteviews with 60% of participants • At the end of the training: • Anonymousquestionnairefilled in by the participants
Methodology and tools • Methodology: • Theory: mini lectures; PPT presentations • Practice: excercises, workshops, discussions, casestudyanalysis • Tools: • Materials prepared by the trainer • Manuals, books, workbooks • Additionaldidactic materials (e.g. sets of articles for drawing/interior design trainings) • Computers and computerprogrammes • Standard classroomequipment: whiteboard, slideprojector.
