Purpose of Community Partner Advisory Groups (CPAG) • Program advice • Input on program effectiveness • Identify new partners • Strengthen existing relationships • Communicate value
Purpose of Community Partner Advisory Groups (CPAG) • Program advice • Input into design of program planning process • Identification of key issues facing our County and educational response • On-going assessment of community issues and Extensions’ response.
Purpose of Community Partner Advisory Groups (CPAG) • Input on program effectiveness • Seek out feedback on Extension programming • Provide insights to educators on community perception and awareness of Extension • What impact is Extension programming having on the community?
Purpose of Community Partner Advisory Groups (CPAG) • Identify new partners • Mapping the connections within CPAG membership • New audiences for promoting programs; assist in connecting educators with underserved audiences. • New program partners • New funding/resource partners
Purpose of Community Partner Advisory Groups (CPAG) • Strengthen existing relationships • Local programming partners • Assess relationships with local, county, state decision-makers; assist in developing effective communications
Purpose of Community Partner Advisory Groups (CPAG) • Communicate value • Learn the “big picture” of Extension • “Tell the story” of Extension; promote Extension programs • Advise development of marketing materials • Create opportunities for interactions with local and state decision-makers.
Program area advisory committee: Knowledge of one Extension program area Connection with one educator & their programs Focus is narrow CPAG Knowledge of the depth and breadth of Extension and its resources Connection with all educators and their programs Focus is broad Program Area vs. CPAG
CPAG: Reflect diverse voices Have regular interaction with EEC and staff The “eyes, ears, and voice” of the county citizens Build local strategies to communicate value Give advisory input to staff…and to EEC as requested. EEC: Makes policy Has sole budget authority Is the formal county partner with the university Solicits input from CPAG on issues when desired CPAG Role vs. EEC Role
