  9. Disclaimer! • There is not one right answer • There are lots of possibilities and good ways to answer interview questions • Each employer will have a different idea about what a perfect candidate is and you may or may not be that person (if you aren’t, it doesn’t mean you did something wrong)

  10. As you begin the interview… • Keep eye contact and smile • Sit in an attentive posture, lean slightly forward • Don’t assume you know who is in charge or who makes the decisions • Expect you will be asked a question you don’t understand or didn’t expect regardless of how well you prepared • Don’t try to fake your way through questions you don’t understand – ask for clarification or ask for a minute to think • Don’t interrupt

  11. Tell me about yourself… (#2) • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR-IhZJOq3U • Relevant experiences • Personal qualities – connect these to results • Specific examples – Connect to reliability • Reconnect your fit with the opportunity at hand • Ask a question as a way to close and show interest

  18. What are your weaknesses? • Don't take this literally and go into a detailed explanation of your weaknesses • Take a potential weakness and putting a positive spin on it • Example: • "I am very detail-oriented and in some industries that may not be a good fit. But for this accounting position, I think this trait truly will help me excel."

  19. Tell me about the worst boss you ever had. • Take the high road and don't give into the temptation to vent any past frustrations. • Example: • "While none of my past bosses were awful, there are some who taught me more than others did."

  20. What are you goals? • This is best answered by reiterating your objective statement on your resume • Example: • "I want to secure a civil engineering position with a national firm that concentrates on retail development. Ideally, I would like to work for a young company, such as this one, so I can get in on the ground floor and take advantage of all the opportunities a growing firm has to offer."
