Responsible Alcohol Service - Public Safety Promotion

Our purpose is to promote public safety through education, training, and enforcement for the responsible use, sale, and service of alcoholic beverages. We focus on minors and alcohol, preventing misrepresentation of age, underage possession, and more. Keeping alcohol away from minors is a priority, and failure to do so may result in liability for injuries. Over-service of alcohol can lead to legal consequences for licensees and social hosts.   1. PUBLIC SAFETY Our purpose is to promote public safety through education, training and enforcement leading to the responsible use, sale and service of alcoholic beverages.

  2. Minors & Alcohol • Misrepresentation of Age • Minor in Possession of Alcohol • Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor • Controlling an Area Where Minors can Consume • Confiscation of Liquor & Property • Confiscation of Places or Property • Controlling an area Where Minors can Consume

  3. Minors & Alcohol • Keeping alcohol out of the hands of minors is a priority for the OLCC. A minor is any person under the age of 21 and a juvenile is any person under the age of 18

  4. Minors & Alcohol • As a licensee, permittee or social host, you may be liable for injuries caused by a minor who obtained alcohol from you when you did not check, or properly check, identification

  5. Over-Service of Alcohol • As a licensee, permittee or social host, if you serve a visibly intoxicated persons or guests, you may be held liable for damages caused by the persons or guests away from your home or business
