  4. Very Important!!!!! LOOK The Prefix Mono is NEVER used for first element

  5. Example Compound: CO • First element is C for Carbon • Named Carbon • First element has 1 atom (do not use mono) • Second element is O for Oxygen • Named Monoxide • Full Name of compound is Carbon Monoxide
