2 exams – midterm and final.
5. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 5 Lab Report You have to submit lab report for each lab.
Only through WEB CT and you will get an email acknowledgement.
NO hard copy submission.
Each lab report carries 40 points
6. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 6 Lab Report Late submission will get you less points.
If you are late by one or two days then you will loose 5 points out of 40.
If you are late by a week or two, then you will get ZERO out of 40.
7. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 7 Lab Report If you are absent, you CANNOT submit your lab report for the particular lab.

Cannot miss more than 2 labs.
Attendance will be recorded.
Must turn in pre-labs at beginning of labs.

Given a ZERO for that lab.
Or ultimately FAIL the course if you are caught cheating again.
11. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 11 Goggles Goggles must be worn at all times during the lab hours.
You can wear contact lenses in the lab but you still need to wear safety goggles.

Chemicals and broken glass ware follow the laws of gravity and fall to the floor!
13. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 13 Tie long hair Please tie your long hair to prevent an errant flame igniting a part of your body!
14. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 14 Food Don’t eat or drink during lab hours.
Anything ingested during lab could be contaminated with dangerous chemicals.

16. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 16 Eyewash station Used when a chemical splashed under the goggles and in the eye area.
Turn on the water and try your eye open with free hand, so that the water saturates the eye. Flush with water for 15 minutes.
17. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 17 The safety shower The safety shower should be used when a chemical splattered over a person’s body and clothes.
18. 9/8/2012 Dept. of Chemistry, USD 18 Fire The fire extinguisher should be used when a fire has spread throughout the lab.
The fire alarm should be touched when a fire is not able to contained by the extinguisher.
