Greek gods to include: 1- Zeus/Hera 2-Poseidon/Hades 3- Athena/ Ares 4-Hephaestus/Hermes 5- Artemis/ Apollo 6- Hestia/ Aphrodite 7-Dionysus/ Demeter 8- Heroes/Loves Just write these on the last envelope • Information needed- • Greek name • Roman name • Powers and Symbols • A color for them • Relatives • All this needs to be decorated on the outside of their envelope

  3. ZEUS/HERA ENTRY • Write a letter to a parent, sibling, or friend describing Zeus’ positive and negative traits. • On the back of that, write a summary of how Hera’s symbol came to be the peacock. • Include- who, what, where, when, why, how

  4. Hades Oh no Cerberus! What am I going to do without my daily reminders! • A Day in the Life of Hades • WHOOOPSIE! Hades left his iphone at your house! His phone goes off every two hours with a reminder of something to do. • Make a list of Hades’ day starting from 8am to 10pm. • Include details for each event. For example: • Appointment with Charon- We will discuss Parker’s punishment for sneaking across River Styx.

  5. Poseidon • Poseidon’s Rage! • Poseidon is on the Oprah show getting interviewed. Answer Oprah’s questions with what you think Poseidon’s answers would be. • In 2011, a giant Tsunami hit Japan. • What happened that day that set you off in a rage? • What did you do to cause or start it? • Could you describe in detail the events leading up to the tsunami?

  6. Athena/ Ares • Athena- • Put yourself in Athena’s shoes. You are her and she is you. You set out to write a journal entry from her perspective. You write about one of your adventures- • claiming Athens, • or teaching Arachne a lesson. • Include her reverence towards her father and the gods. • Ares- • Compare Ares to a modern day celebrity you know. • How are they the same? What characteristics do they both carry? What are their major interests? What do they look like? How do they react when they are hurt?

  7. Apollo/Artemis • For both Apollo and Artemis, write a tabloid article like you interviewed both Apollo and Artemis together. • Subject- chose one • The Queen of Thebes, Niobe • Twin Giants, Otus & Ephialtes • Include- who, what, where, when, why, how • Similar

  8. Hephaestus/Hermes • In these two stories, Hephaestus and Hermes have a lot of interactions with their parents. • Write two paragraphs one for Hermes and the other for Hephaestus including the following: • The lessons learned from their parents • Their interactions with their parents • How their parents view them

  9. Demeter/Dionysus • Compare the myths of Dionysus and Demeter. • Write one paragraph for each god including: • Who dies or descends into the underworld? Why? How? • How are the seasons and dolphins explained in these stories. • What was Zeus’ interactions with these two gods?

  10. Aphrodite/ Hestia • Aphrodite- Looking at the picture to the right, describe what you see relating back to what you read. • Hestia- What family member reminds you of Hestia? Why? What similarities do they both have?
