The queen The Queen is Elizabeth 2nd .She lives in Buckingham palace. She has Been Queen for 59 years WHAT THE QUEEN DOES : She appoints ministers She opens and closes parliament (whit ministers advince) She signs laws and gives the Royal assent The Queen applies laws, declares war, makes peace, signs treaties, awards honours to man and woman who have performed some service for the country.
The prime minister and the cabinet The prime minister is chosen by the queen He is the leader of the political party which has one. He has two houses an official residence at to den downing street London. He chooses his a cabinet. His name is Davide Cameron.
House of commons It has 650 members The are elected by people. They can propose laws. They vote new tales. They discuss the major political issues.
House of Lords They are 1200 members They are not elected by people. They can't vote. They are temporal lords ( dukes,viscount,earl or marquises)and spiritual (archbishop and bishop) .
The electorate Everyone who is over 18 can vote for House of commons; The queen and members of the house lords can't vote. There is a general election every fiveyears.
