NAIP 2011Some things stay the same • Flying Seasons • Crop growing season - determined by FSA • <10% cloud cover • Deliverables • available approximately 45 days after end of flying season • Quarter quads in uncompressed GeoTIFF format • Compressed County Mosaics in MG3 format, 15:1 • Absolute Horizontal Accuracy Specification • 6 meters from “true ground” position • 1 meter resolution • Natural Color

  3. NAIP 2011Buy-ups How they work • NAIP Buy Ups • “4 Band” • Half Meter Resolution (Pilot Project in 2011) • Firm, set price determined for each state in 2011 schedule • Based on estimated 2011 base price • Written commitment needed by January 31, 2011. NAIP 2011Presentationfor NSGIC

  4. NAIP 2011Pilot Project - Half Meter Buy-up • Half meter resolution pilot project • Limited number of states • Flown at lower altitude – increase flight lines/time • 4X volume of data • Vendor survey • Very positive responses NAIP 2011Presentationfor NSGIC

  5. NAIP 2011Pilot Project-Half Meter Buy Up • Deliverables • Quarter Quads in GeoTIFF • ~ 580 MB in 3 band • ~773 MB in 4 band • Looking at highly compressed mosaics (MG3) • Absolute Horizontal Accuracy • 6 meters from “true ground” position • Flying Seasons • Crop growing season - determined by FSA • <10% cloud cover NAIP 2011Presentationfor NSGIC

  6. NAIP 2011Pilot Project - Cost • Estimated at additional 50% of base costs • 1 meter (4 band) estimated at $230/quarter quad • ½ meter buy-up cost at $115/QQ • Total ½ meter project cost at $345/QQ • FSA and federal partners pay $230 • State partner pays $115 NAIP 2011Presentationfor NSGIC
