Other OS32C Enhancements • Configuration Tool version changes from 1.5.0 to 1.6.0 (Download from www.sti.com) • Non-Safety Checksum • Checksum value is updated when changes are made to the warning zones or the non-safety-critical parameters • Import/Export Zone Coordinates • Allows for CAD drawing coordinates to be imported in the zone configuration • Maintenance Access Level (all scanners) • Allows a user to modify non-safety parameters only

Application: Reporting • Large scale process line • 30 plus scanners per assembly line. • Customer needed a complete machine status update with a simple request • Customer needs to maximize machines efficiency and minimize maintenance and down time. • Ethernet I/P was the customers protocol of choice. • Immediate machine status reports • Configuration check sum to assure there was no tampering with any scanner settings. • Confirmation that the appropriate zone was active when the machine controls requested it.

Omron PLC Function Block: Measurement Configuration Input Assembly: This is the start PLC memory location of the input assembly, this is entered as an DINT second word should be 0 Output Assembly: This is the start PLC memory location of the output assembly, this is entered as an DINT second word should be 0 Out Beam Data: This is the start PLC memory location where the calculated range data will be written too. The DM location size will change with beam angle & bean spread are changed. Beam Angle size: This is the size of the data that will be ouputted by FB, this entered as deg from 2 deg to 268 deg. Beam Start Loaction: Start location of range data read. 2 to 270 deg Beam Spread: Number of beams to be used, 1,2,4,8,or 16
