  2. Traditional Definitions • Information Gateway • An online database of links to resources that have been reviewed, usually subject specific. • Portal • A web site or service, which offers a broad array of services, from email to forums as well as the traditional search interface of records.

  3. Subject Portals Project - Overview • Continuation of the RDN project • Enhancement of the RDN subject gateways • Creation of software “tool kits” • User focused development • Academically orientated
