  1. Science By: Maria Salmeron

  2. Table of contents • My learning this year • Waves parts • Infra and ultra sounds • Eye • How lighting is form • Ground & resistance • Circuits • Electromagnetic Spectrum • Transparent Translucent Opaque • Scientific method • Simple machines • Newton's law

  3. My learning • First of all I am happy to have you again like a teacher well anyways this years learning was okay I didn’t really have any problems at all and I still have something's memorize so I wont forget and I know we reached our learning goals this years learning was pretty fun

  4. Parts of a wave

  5. Ultra & infra sound Ultra sound Infra sound A sound lower than 20 hertz Ex: Whale, tigers, washing machine, giraffes, elephants they use this to find food talk to each other and warn each other • A sound higher than 20 hertz • Ex: dolphins bats and Doppler , animals may use this to warn each other or to communicate

  6. Eye • The eye has three cone cells they let us see color which is red green and blue then we have two types of rods one that allows us to absorb black and reflects white

  7. How Lighting is formed • 1st charge is build up • 2nd separation of charge • 3 release of charge

  8. Ground and resistance • Ground a conductor place in the ground for extra electrons can pass through safely Ex: Lighting rod • Resistance slows down the flow of electrons Ex: Conductors low resistance Insulators high resistance

  9. Circuits • Electric circuit is the path that electrons can flow There are 4 parts to a circuit 1st switch-turn an off 2nd Power source-battery or generator 3rd electrical device-what is getting powered 4th conductor-material it passes threw

  10. Circuits Series parallel Has multiple paths for it to go through • Only has one path for electricity to go through

  11. Electromagnetic spectrum • Includes all waves from Micro waves to Gamma rays

  12. Transparent Translucent Opaque • Transparent-to see through an object • Translucent-when you could see through but no detail • Opaque-when you cant see through an object at all

  13. Scientific Method • The test to prove a statement • There are six steps involved in this they are: • Research Question-What you are investigating • Variables-What you are changing the result of what you changed and what stays the same • Hypothesis-An educated guess with an if and then statement • Procedure-The steps to your experiment • Graphs-Whenyou make charts • Conclusion- Your summary and what did you learn

  14. Simple machines • Make work easier for us to do • Incline plane • Wedges • Lever • Pulley • Wheel & axle • Screw

  15. Newton's three laws • Isaac Newton created three theories which are • 1st an object will not stop moving or will not move until a force is added • 2nd the heavier an object is the more force is needed • 3rd every reaction has an equal reaction with an opposite direction
