  4. ACCOMMODATION ACCOMMODATION Availability: • 18 882 establishments are listed on the database • 202 712 rooms are listed on the accommodation database.

ACCOMMODATION MATCH REPORT • 630 000 room nights in host cities are retained by MATCH. • In total 1 680 000 room nights were held from the starting position; • In total 1 050 000 contracted room nights have been released • Approximately 49% of (516 000 room nights) of releases have been made in non-host cities which includes inventory contracted outside of South Africa (114 000) due to no or little interest; • 534 000 room nights in host cities have been released. • 47% of these releases were “outside” of the world cup period

ACCOMMODATION PRICING Independent survey results for Hospitality Industry: • Industry in general has practiced responsible and fair pricing for the event. • 74% of all establishments are charging a 50% premium or less. • A total of 48% of establishments will not be charging a premium at all. • 27% of establishments will not even be charging a premium on their lowest 2010 rate. • Only 26% intend to charge more 50% more than their highest normal 2010 rates. • Department and industry have consistently encouraged consumers to shop around (there is plenty to choose from).

  11. ITS AFRICA’S TIME • Africa Festival hosted by RETOSA – (Melrose Arch – Johannesburg). • All 15 SADC countries. • Rwanda as also taking part by request. • Duration of world Cup • Each SADC country to host country day.
