Camp Trip details • Camp costs $300 for the week (checks payable to Kenston Board of Education) • Money is collected two times- Oct 1-12 and then again by February 22, 2013. $150 payment due by Oct 12 to hold a spot to go to camp! (refunds possible until April 12, so if you are unsure, pay now) • Permission paperwork will be passed at the beginning of February, to be returned by February 22. • Scholarships are available- call Ms. Burton for details • Questions? Students arrive at school between 8-8:30 am Monday Leave luggage outside and meet in assigned classroom PACK a lunch for Monday On Friday we leave camp by noon. Rides should be at school by 1:30 PM to pick up students General Information
Camp Counselors • Senior Kenston High School students and College students are chosen to be counselors after a thorough application process. • Female counselors will live with the female campers. Male counselors will live with the male campers. • The counselors job is to stay with the campers at night, take campers to activities, and help out at activities.
Daily Schedule • 7:45 am Breakfast, 8:30 breakfast • 9-12 am Morning Activity • 12 PM Lunch, 12:45 lunch • 2-5 PM Afternoon Activity • 5:15 PM Dinner, 6pm dinner • 7:30 PM Evening Activity • 9:30 PM snack- return to cabins
The dining hall- a bit on the small size, so we eat in split shifts- girls, then boys
Camp Activities • Challenge course • Survivor/Creek study • Fishing • Arts and Crafts/fun-n-games • Ultimate/Outdoor cooking • Camouflage games/Geology Hike • Old school games/dance
7th Grade Camp Rules • Camp is a school activity, so all school rules must be followed. • Your buddy, teacher, or counselor must know where you (the camper) are at all times. • Students must stay out of other cabins unless given permission by the campers who are staying there. • Students are not allowed to visit the cabins of the opposite gender. No boys in girls campsites, no girls in boys campsites. • Students must respect the direction and help of counselors as they have the responsibility and authority similar to that of the teachers. • Students must follow good conservation practices. They can only take pictures and leave only footprints, and must stay on trails at all times. • Students must practice humane treatment of all animals. They can not feed or interact with any animal on camp property. • Students are expected to display good table manners in the dining hall.
There is a lot of teacher supervision and many counselors return through their college years to help at camp!
Medication! *Forms for medication will be mailed home with the February permission packet *All medication (over the counter, or prescription) MUST be turned in to the nurse Monday morning before camp (epipens and inhalers are the only exceptions) *Students go to the nurse to get medication or medical help while at camp *We take two nurses to camp with us and they are on call 24 hours a day! We are also very close to a hospital. *Medications are to be picked up from the nurse on Friday when we return
Journal Writing... • Students are required to write in their journals each day at camp. • On the inside cover of the journal there will be a list of requirements. • Requirements may include a nature drawing, a poem, observations, opinions, list of facts learned or similar assignments. Pencil, pen and journals are provided. • Journals will be graded by your science teacher!

The students sleep in cabins. There is a girls and a boys side of camp.
