nebula • In interstellar space there are huge clouds of gas and particles called ‘nebulas’. These bright nebulas emit light and appear in different fluorescent colours. You can see swirls of bright red, pink, orange purple blue and green etc.
Enter the nebula • Image you have entered the nebula as you move toward the centre, swirls of colour surround you. These would be like swirling lines of a target shape all around. Today you are going to paint one or two nebula tat you might see from a space craft. • 1) place paper landscape or vetical, your choice. • 2)Sketch on or two free form shapes on your paper.
Steps 3 and 4 • Keep tracing outside the shape , making concentric shapes until the page is filled. • 4)paint the rings. Use thicker paint, skip a ring, to allow time for it to dry. When you get to the outside edge, go back and make a mixed in colour. IE if red is on one side and yellow the next the in between ring will be orange. • Use black on the outer edges . You can use a tiny sprinkle of salkt to give a frog skin look to the black area.
Evaluate. • Have you created free-form moving shapes with concentric lines of colour ? • Have you mixed your colours to create new colours ?
