  3. FEE STATEMENT/SYLLABUS • FEE statement goes to guidance office • Syllabus comes back to me • Due 3/14

  4. ABOUT THE CLASS • Basic intro to auto • Overview of cars and careers • Pre Req to AYES SCTC advanced auto

  5. Course Outline • Week 1 – Intro/safety • Week 2 – Tools • Week 3/4 – Hoist jack stands • Week 5 – Wheels and Tires • Week 6/7 – Car fluids/ oil • Week 8 – Filters and sparkplugs • Week 9/10 – Electric and Charging • Week 11-13 – Brakes • Week 14 - Final

  6. CLASSROOM RULES • 1. Students should be in their desks, ready to be class • 2. Students should have all their daily materials ( workbook/paper/ pencial ). • 3. Students should be respectful to all members of class ( don’t talk when someone else is talking) • 4. Have a positive attitude. • 5. No food or belverages in lab ( waterbottles ) • 6. Cellphones are not to be used during class.

  7. Procedures • 1. Enter the room quietly • 2. Have safety glasses (lab) • 3. Take notes during lecture

  8. Computer / tools • 1. Be respectful auto area • 2. tool boxes must be clean and organized before bell rings • 3. Tools must be cleaned • 4. All tools must be in correct carts • 5. Sockets in trays

  9. Homework • 1. Homework will be assigned by chapter. • 2. All homework should be done in pencil. • 3. Late work is accepted (reduction in grade) • 4. Questions about homework or information email me

  10. Basic auto books and workbooks The books are brand new! Workbook and text book Chapters will be assigned and will be due 2 days after assigned date! Books will not be checked out!

  11. INFORMATION ABOUT YOU !!! • 1. What are your expectations for the class? • 2. What activities / jobs are you involved in? • 3. Are you interested in working in auto career / part time job during school? • 4. Do you owe or drive a car to school? • 5. What is your experience level on cars?
