  3. A: The length for the Representatives is a two-year term. Fact: As a result from this term, they have to face voters much more often. Q: What is the length of the term of office members of the U.S. House of Representatives?

  4. A: Senators must be at least 30 years old, while House members must be 25. Fact: Senators must have been citizens for 9 years, and House members for just 7 years. Q: How old must a person be to be elected to the House of Representatives? To the Senate?

  5. A: The U.S. House of Representatives proposes new laws. Fact: If a majority in one house votes in favor of a bill, it is sent to the other house for debate. If both houses agree it goes to the president. The bill becomes a law if the president approves it. Q: Who has the power to propose a law to raise revenue (a tax law)

  6. A: Members of the Senate serve a six to seven year term. Fact: This is so that they can enjoy some independence from day to day opinions of voters. Q: What is the length of a term of office for members of the United States Senate?

  7. A: Congress has the power to declare war. Fact: Besides declaring war, Congress also pays government debts, grants citizenship, and raises an army and navy. Q: Who has the power to declare war?

  8. A: In time, the number of representatives in the house was at 435. Fact: To determine the number of representatives for each state, the Constitution calls for a census every ten years. Q: How many members of the senate and house are there? How many members of Congress?
