Potential Energy • Energy stored within a physical system as a result of the position or configuration of the different parts of that system
Kinetic Energy • The energy of a body or a system with respect to the motion of the body or of the particles in the system
Joule • the SI unit of work or energy, equal to the work done by a force of one newton when its point of application moves through a distance of one meter in the direction of the force: equivalent to 10 ergs and one watt-second.
Wattage • The amount of power required to operate an electrical appliance or device
Renewable Energy • any naturally occurring, theoretically inexhaustible source of energy, as biomass, solar, wind, tidal, wave, and hydroelectric power, that is not derived from fossil or nuclear fuel.
Nonrenewable Energy • Energy that comes from the ground and is not replaced in a relatively short amount of time
