Basic Motor Skills is an intentional movement involving a muscular component Locomotorskills such as running, jumping, hopping, galloping, skipping and leaping Non Locomotor(stationary) the body remains in place, but may move around its horizontal and vertical axis. Manipulative skills - “manipulating” an object by using either an implement or body part (such as catching, throwing, pushing, kicking, striking, etc) It includes an object and a motor skill. Simple movement pattern: Skills that have only one or two basic movements Complex Movement pattern: Skills that have two or more locomotor and/or manipulative movements which are enhanced

CRITICAL ELEMENTS Small, isolated parts of the whole skill or movement • Does the student start in a squatting position? • Does the student raise their butt to roll with hands placed on floor? • Does the student keep their chin tucked to their chest? • Does the student stay in a ball throughout the roll? • Does the student roll straight forward? • Can the student create enough momentum to complete the walk out? • Forward Roll • Write down the critical elements of 2 skills that you know:-
