What is rope skipping? • Rope skipping, also known as jump rope, is a game in which one or more people jump over a spinning rope that passes under their feet and over their heads. • In single rope, this usually consists of one person twirling and jumping the rope. In double dutch, two twirl a pair of ropes while others jump.

Types of rope skipping • Single Rope One skipper with one rope - learn lots of individual tricks. • Partners Two or more skippers with one rope - share skipping with your friends. • Long Rope One long rope with two turners and any number of skippers. • Double Dutch Two ropes with two turners - one or two jumpers inside the ropes.
Assessment • Group Size: Maximum 4 students • Duration: 2min 30sec for group of 3; 3 mins for group of 4; • Date of assessment: Week beginning 28 May 2012
