We have over 15,000 books, tapes/cds, videos, and DVDs. We have access to millions of websites for research and fun. We have thousands of AR tests for you to take. What’s here?
We use Destiny to find the material we are looking for in the library. Ask. How do I find it?
The fiction materials are on the tall shelves on the left side and middle. The non-fiction are on the shorter shelves through the middle of the library, shelved according to their Dewey number. We have the biographies and reference materials in their own sections. Where is everything?
You can check out any of the Fiction titles. • You can check out all of the non-Fiction except the reference materials. • Your teacher can check out reference materials for you and keep them in the classroom for 21 days, just ask them to ask us. What Can I check out?
Once you find the books you are looking for, bring them to the counter for us to check out. • You will give us your 6 digit ID number and we will check out the books to you. • You can have up to three books out at once. • You can keep them for 14 days. • We will be happy to renew them for you. How do I get it?
Late fines are $.05 per day, up to $2.50. We will be happy to renew a book before it is due, so try to remember to renew to avoid fines. If a book is lost or damaged, we have to charge the price of the book so that we can replace it. If you find the book after we mark it lost and you pay for it, we can give you a refund for the returned book. What happens if it’s late or I lose it?
We are open from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm during the week. You may come visit us at any time your teachers allow. The same rules apply here as in the rest of the building. When can I come to the media center?
Thank you for visiting us today, we hope to see you quite a bit over the course of the year. Questions?
