  1. What not to pack - items you never need overseas

  2. The golden rule for packing when you are travelling overseas is to leave as much space empty as possible on your way there. For one, your clothes which are not ironed during your return will occupy more space. But more importantly, you are sure to pick up lots of things for yourself, and for friends, relatives and work colleagues. Leaving space ensures that you do not need to pay extra baggage charges on your way back, in which case you might not even have enough money left to collect your car at LAX Parking.

  3. The problem of over packing happens more for destinations you have not visited before, especially overseas destinations. The fear of unknown culture, customs, and weather is responsible for this. But there are a few things that invariably get packed, but which are items you never need overseas. You can easily leave these three things at home. 1. Home food or food from your own country. Relish the food of the country you are visiting. 2. Large towels. Your hotel will usually provide clean ones, unless you are finicky. 3. Huge books or maps about the country. Everything is available online.
