Conclusion Responses from the staff survey highlighted a real desire amongst teaching staff to engage with e-learning and to develop resources and packages to use within their teaching. Whilst there is a recognised organisational need to develop more online and blended learning materials, uptake would be greatly facilitated by acknowledging and addressing internal (“carrot”) drivers. This involves factors which inhibit engagement (i.e. anxiety and uncertainty; lack of knowledge and technical expertise) and those which promote it (technical support ; resources and time allocation).
