Webinars are excellent for creating a sense of immediacy, intimacy and a social environment. Because they are live, people often feel more connected and engaged than with pre recorded video and other less interactive pages. Events replicate the “live event” environment. This gives you more time to educate the client, build rapport and position yourself before the sale. It’s highly effective for building excitement and anticipiation, especially when paired with social triggers and remarketing. Popularised by Jeff Walker as the “Sideways Sales Letter” or “Product Launch Formula” the video training series funnel is an extremely popular online sales funnel often used so sell high ticket products such as online courses and coaching programs. Pros: Can be completely automated Helps build positioning, anticipation, demand and understanding of the offer Creates multiple interactions so can be useful for selling to cold audiences Leverages social triggers to increase social deman, making it excellent for selling group programs The familiar format can help people feel comfortable and give you creidibility (this funnel is used by many top online marketers, coaches and consultants) Cons: Relatively complex to design and execute compared with the consulting funnel Because it is a longer funnel people who are ready to take action now can’t act immediately Some people don’t like watching a lot of videos May confuse some buyers It’s popularity and ubiquity across the web may turn off the many people who have seen it before.
