Theatrical Personnel • TECHNICAL DIRECTOR • Oversees all backstage work • Assures creative vision is being carried out throughout the technical areas • DESIGN STAFF • “Chief” of every backstage crew • Take director’s vision and apply own expertise in field to make the artistic vision a practical reality • ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER • Works closely with the cast and director during staging rehearsals • Is liaison to SM and other crews to assure consistency in communication
Theatrical Personnel • MUSIC DIRECTOR/VOCAL DIRECTOR • Works with the cast and band to coordinate band & singing elements • CHOREOGRAPHER • Dance director of a musical production • Sometimes works on special movements in a stylistic show (stage combat, etc) • HOUSE MANAGER • Producer’s assistant In charge of box office and all “house” personnel and activities • ASST DIRECTOR/DRAMATURGE • “Gofer” for director; works with actors on the script and foundation elements of the rehearsal process
