Old religious beliefs • Estonian belief was pluralism, expressed in the belief in various spirits and fairies.
Since the 16th century, Estonia has been a predominantly protestant (Lutheran) country. Evangelical Lutheran Church
Legend • The little old man of Ülemiste, who according to the legend lived near Tallinn in Ülemiste lake. When Tallinn is completely finished the little old man will drown the town. Because of that every person who meets the little old man has to tell him that Tallinn will never be completely finished.
It is believed to be one of the boulders that Linda was supposed to carry to Kalev's grave at Toompea, but which fell off her apron. She sat on the boulder and cried, thus creating the lake.
