  2. INTRODUCTION The need for solutions that provide energy savings in full compliance with lighting level regulations is increasing. Traditional lighting installations that use High Pressure Sodium (HPS) are costly to maintain, energy intensive and often fail to comply with anti light pollution regulations.   3. Comparison The high colour rendering of the new LED units imitate daylight thereby deterring crime and reducing the fear of crime.

  4. ENERGY SAVINGS Total absorbed power is now 17.7 KW against 32 KW of the previous installation. The overall energy saving is 45% with a saving of more than 27.4 T CO2e. (Tons of CO2 equivalent) emitted into the atmosphere yearly. ECONOMIC SAVINGS The economic savings obtained are the sum of energy savings and maintenance savings over the 10 year life of the new LED fittings.
