Merchant guilds • Merchant guilds were the first and they dominated town life • They passed laws and levied taxes • They were strict about there laws and had harsh punishments
Women and guilds • Women worked in many crafts • They usually became guild masters because they knew their trade well • Women usually engaged in their fathers craft
