Difference between FHD and HD in the model name indicates the resolution of the panel, FHD is 1080p, and HD is 720p
The models with the “R” suffix are carry over cabinets, but the chassis and panels have changed. (no compatibility with 08 models)
The “R” suffix does not indicate rebuilt or refurbished product.
15. To Enter the Service Mode Press the MENU key on the remote and select the PICTURE menu
Move the cursor to highlight CONTRAST
Press “9 7 3 5” within six seconds

28. SERVICE MODE LIST There are several service modes that are entered with a combination of a key press on the remote and a key press on the front panel. (Hold both for more than two seconds simultaneously)
The following work when the set is in the TV mode:
To Clear the V-Chip Password: hold the Volume Down key on the set and the “0” key on the remote for more than two seconds.
To RESET the set to “out-of-box” condition (delete channel scan list, passwords, etc.: Hold the Volume Down on the TV and the 1 button on the remote for over two seconds.
To check the MICON version and Checksum data: Press the Volume Down key on the set and the “8” key on the remote for more than two seconds.
29. Service Mode List (DVD mode) To reset the DVD module (to beginning of production line state): Hold the volume down on the TV and press the “4” button on the remote for more than two seconds.
To release the Parental lock on the DVD: Hold the “Stop” button on the TV front panel and the “7” button on the remote for more than two seconds.
To display the firmware version: Hold the “Stop” button on the set and the “1” button on the remote for more than two seconds. (Note: this feature is not used for normal service.)
30. Service Mode List Cont. The following two modes will work in both TV and DVD modes:
The number of hours of power on operation can be checked by holding the volume down button on the TV front panel and the “6” button on the remote for more than two seconds. (the number of hours is shown in hexadecimal notation) In addition, this mode allows the writing of data to individual EEPROM locations in case the EEPROM is changed.
To enter the Service Mode: Hold the volume down button on the TV and the “9” button the remote for more than two seconds.
31. TV Software Update Procedure for TV/DVD Combos Download the software file to a USB device
Change the name of the software to AppBase.bin (The name is the same for all screen sizes so use extreme caution when selecting and naming the file.)
Turn the set on and pull the AC power. (This ensures that the TV will come on again when next plugged in)
Remove the access cover on the back of the set and insert the USB device.
32. TV Software Update Procedure continued Connect to AC power. The update begins automatically.
Do not remove AC power during the update process!
33. TV Software Update Procedure cont. When the update is complete, the checksum screen is displayed
The checksum info is for the old software, not the code just loaded!
After the update is complete, remove the USB device and cycle AC power.
34. DVD Firmware Updates In the extremely unlikely event of an update to the DVD firmware, download the software to a bootable CD-R.
Turn on the TV, switch to DVD mode
Insert the CD-R
Follow the directions on the screen
35. 120Hz Models LxxFHD2X48 Due to panel supply issues, these models are coming late in the model year and volumes will be small.
The service menus and software update procedures are similar to last year’sLxxHD22 series models.
To enter the service mode: Press “menu” and select the “picture” menu
Scroll to “contrast”
Enter “9”, “7”,“3”, and “5” within six seconds.
A letter “M” will flash on the left side of the screen if in service mode.

36. ADC Calibration ADC (analog to digital converter) calibration should be done for every analog input.
It is necessary to use the correct input signal for the alignment.
The alignment is automatic
37. Factory Menu 1 Contains alignments for color temperature, peak white, black level
Presets for Dynamic Black Offset, sub black level and sub peak white.
Store results when exiting this screen.
38. Factory Menu 1 Cool color temperature Only highlights are adjusted for warm and cool color temperatures. Lowlights have a fixed offset from the normal setting.
May be necessary to readjust normal after the warm and cool are adjusted
39. Factory Menu 2 The first item IFC is a preset and should not be changed.
NVM INIT is used to preset the software for alignment in the factory. It can overwrite alignment data. (There should be no reason to ever change NVM init in the field)
Shop End is used to reset to Out-of-Box condition. It will remove all passwords, channel scan lists, and parental controls.
Burning Mode is used to “age” the set on the assembly line to warm the panel for alignment. It should not be used for service.
SRS mode selects between SRS TruSurround and SRS Wow. The set already comes with the highest of the SRS types, but it is possible to replace it with the lower performing SRS Wow.
40. Software Information Menu Contains main software version

41. Software Update procedure Create a folder named “Upgrades” on the USB device
Copy the new software and a file named NvmfromUsb_dev.upg to the USB device
Change the name of the NVM file to NVM.bin
Plug the USB device to the USB port on the TV
42. Start Software Update Remove AC power
Press and hold the arrow down button on the remote while connecting the AC power. (requires long arms or two people) After about five seconds release the arrow down button.
The set will come on and display the software update interface
Use the arrow keys on the remote to select the desired file, and the OK key to begin the update
You will be asked to confirm the update
Press Menu to return to the software list to select another file to update.
When all updates are complete, remove AC and the USB device to reset the TV
