New File Formats • Microsoft Office XML Format • Compact files, automatically compressed • Default “x” ending cannot include VBA macros or ActiveX controls (so are safer to send and receive) • For backward compatibility, must save in earlier formats • Can download a free plugin for saving as PDF

  5. Windows Desktop Search (WDS) • FAST search of documents and emails! • Indexing of documents and emails during system idle time

OneNote • Collects and manages a variety of data, including text, pictures, drawings, tables, lists, files, screenshots, audio, video, Outlook tasks, hyperlinks, and more • Organizes data into multiple notebooks, with each notebook divided into sections • Each section contains multiple pages • GREAT tool for organizing projects!
