Background: • She grew up in North Pole, Alaska • Parents had divorced when Miranda was young • Brought many boyfriends home and • her sister had to take care of her • Called her mother a “pill popping drunk” • also verbally abusive • Molested at the age of 4 • Her uncle was charged with • sexual abuse as a minor (14 years) • Attend Colony High • In and out of rehab for heroin addiction. • Had a child at the age of 17

  3. Crime History • Miranda’s first crime had been at the age of 13, when her cult leader Forest had taken her to go kill a man who owed Forest money. The guy had been shot and killed in an alley • She had then become a high ranking cult official and not soon after go pregnant with Forest. Forest was soon killed afterwards. • From there she began to kill and abuse drugs more often. • She had killed over 22 people in multiple states. • ( Had not confessed to these crimes until recently)

  4. Recent Crime • Her most recent crime was the murder of Troy Laferrara. • Troy from Port Trevorton, PA who had responded to Miranda’s had posted an ad on craigslist promising “companionship” for $100. • On November 11th was the day that Miranda and Troy had met up. Miranda was not alone in this plan. Her husband Elytte of 3 weeks was hiding in the backseat of her car. She and her husband had code words for how they were going to attack Troy. Troy started touching Miranda and she had called out the code words “Did you see the stars tonight?” Her husband had done nothing. She then took matters in her own hands and took a knife out and stabbed Troy 20 plus times.

  5. Evidence Sentence • Miranda had taken Troy’s phone and brought it to the club she went to that night. She had Left the phone at the club (on purpose) • Police went through Troy’s messages and found some that linked them to Miranda. • When police had arrested Miranda on December 3rd. She confessed to the murder of Troy and the 22 other people she lured in and ki • Miranda was found guilty for the murder of Troy. • She is now serving time at the Muncy State Correctional Institution. • The court ruled for the favor of the death penalty. • Miranda now has a new trial on May 30th because she repeatedly asked for a lawyer and they had not given her one. Therefore, Her confessions are illegal and not valid.
