  1. Health Project Yangjae Park Picnic June 7th 12:25 – 3:00pm

  2. The Project On Friday June 7, the whole school will go to the Yangjae Park for a picnic lunch and activities. These activities will be led by Mr. Marks and the grade 6B and 8 Health and Career students. It will be our job to come up with fun, easy game to excite the whole school.

  3. Games/Activities • Grade eights and sixes will get into groups of 2-3 people to make up their own games for the picnic • Each group will be assigned to make games for either Kindergarten-Grade 2, Grades 3-5, or middle school • These games should be appropriate, depending on the group of people you’re making the game for (K-2, 3-5, 6-8)

  4. What the games should be like • These games should be simple and easy to play, but also exciting and fun • The games can be similar to the games Mr. Vigar and Mr. Lecain led during the Jeju trip! (The Crazy Olympics)

  5. Examples Penny Hose – Two pennies are placed in the ends of the legs of a pair of pantyhose. Using only their hands, the contestants must inch their way down the legs to retrieve the pennies and pull them out. Each arm must work independently and the player cannot use one hand to stretch or for the other.

  6. Examples Elephant March – Two contestants must wear a standard pair of pantyhose over the head, with a baseball placed inside the end of one leg. Keeping one foot on each side of the centerline, the contestant must swing back and forth using the momentum of the baseball to knock down all ten bottles.

  7. Assignment • Today you will sit with one or two partners and create a game • Criteria • List all the materials needed • Game objective • Diagram of the game (Skitch) • The target audience of the game • What will the students be doing while the game is in session. • What is the role of you, partner while game is in progress • Top games will result in the highest mark • To be done in Powerpoint as you will explain the game to the class Next week. • Not all games will be used at the picnic but some will. I will decide after the presentations!

  8. Remember • Simple games are usually the best! • Make it fun for that age group • Use the internet for ideas but your game should be somewhat orginal • It’s a station game – can be done in 10-15 minutes
