Program Goals and Objectives: • Learn about Chinese business and economy. • Learn about how to do business in China and/or with Chinese. • Learn about Chinese culture and society. • Learn how to work in diverse workplaces and companies. • Have a great time!
The program package includes: • Course materials/books • Roundtrip airfare from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN to Beijing, China -- return flight from China will be from Shanghai to Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN • Housing in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai • Transportations in/between Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai. • Entry fees to all scheduled tourist attractions. • Cultural Insurance Services International health insurance. • International Student Travel Card. • Chinese visa. • Administrative expenses required to carry out a program.
Program Format • Preparatory lectures and orientations at LSBE • Lectures/Special speeches in the classrooms with Chinese students. • Trips to several Chinese cultural landmarks such as The Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace (Beijing, Suzhou, Shanghai). • Field trips to Chinese companies and/or international companies located in Special Economic Development Zones (Tianjin).
The facts Eligibility and Prerequisites • An interest in China is required, but Chinese language competence is not necessary. • The program is open to LSBE undergraduate students. Freshmen through senior students of all majors are encouraged to apply. Enrollment is limited to 20 students. Credits • Students will receive three credits of INTB 4495: International Business. The course fulfills international requirement and upper division LSBE credit requirement. Costs • The program package is approximately $3,849. Adjustment will be made due to currency exchange ratio. A non-refundable deposit will be due upon acceptance to the program. The remainder of the program fee will be billed through Student Accounts Receivable.
