  4. Extra Information • Joined the civil rights movement after graduating • He was elected first chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee • On January 18, 1990 Barry was arrested for the use of crack cocaine and possession.

  5. Role In Politics • Elected to city council in 1974 • Became chair of the committee
