CENTRAL MN GIS USER GROUP 1. History • Why? Share information and coordinate GIS development • January 2007 – First meeting held in this very room • May 16th, 2007 – Second meeting was held here this morning • Very early stages of development
CENTRAL MN GIS USER GROUP 2. Mission/Purpose • No formal vision or mission statement yet • Purpose • Provide a forum for sharing information • Tools, techniques, data… • Web-based map viewers • Data distribution & fee structure (county) • Promote GIS ‘Best Practices’ and establish/adopt common standards • Coordinate regional projects

Scope • Attendees have come from: • City – St. Cloud, St. Cloud Area Planning Office • Primary Service Area • County – Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Morrison, Todd, Wright, Douglas • Higher Education – St. Cloud State University • Private - GeoComm • Visitors – Pine-to-Prairie User Group and RDCs
