  2. Fantastic News • R.I. President WILF ANNOUNCED in Kuala Lumpur: “The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded Rotary U.S. $100 million for Polio Eradication, which Rotary will match, dollar-for-dollar, over three years.

  3. This challenge Grant • Is one of the largest given by the Gates Foundation and it represents a tremendous validation of Rotary’s goal-oriented, business model approach to Polio Eradication.

  4. ROTARY WILL spend • The initial U.S. $100 Million within one year in direct support of Polio Immunization Activities carried out by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

PolioPlus – What Can Rotarians Do? • Support a PolioPlus Partners project through the Open Projects List (OPL) • Highlight publicly the role of Rotary in the global polio eradication initiative • Schedule a club program on PolioPlus • Encourage new members and new clubs to become a part of Rotary’s No.1 Goal of Polio Eradication • Allocate available District Designated Funds (DDF) to PolioPlus Partners

  23. PolioPlus Partners Social MobilizationRaise awareness of polio immunization: • radio and television ads • billboards • megaphones • t-shirts/aprons to identify volunteers

  24. Two Ways to Support PolioPlus Partners District Designated Funds (DDF): 2007-08 DDF contributions are being matched US$.50 for every US$1.00 contributed. Cash Contributions: Cash contributions are matched US$ .50 for every US$1.00 donated through 2007-08.
