Optional Flexible Year Program (OFYP) • To apply, submit the following to TEA: • An original application • A modified instructional calendar • A letter describing the proposed modifications to the instructional calendar that includes a description of the OFYP • Include the date on which the board of trustees approved the modified instructional calendar
Optional Flexible School Day Program (OFSDP) • Offering flexible hours and days of attendance for students meeting any ONE of the following criteria: • Dropout / Risk of dropping out • Participates in an early college high school • Campus with an innovative redesign • Student denied credit for one or more classes

Principals Surveys to Evaluate Texas Educator Preparation Programs: 1stYear Beginning Teachers • From TEA….to campus principals with first-year teachers • Collect data regarding the performance of beginning teachers and the effectiveness of educator preparation programs preparing beginning teachers to succeed in the classroom • Survey Collection: May 2nd thru June 15th
Above grade level testing Grades 3-8 • A student in grades 3-8 would not participate in an on-grade-level assessment for a specific grade and subject if the student is receiving instruction in a subject within the same content area that is intended for students in a higher grade or if the student is taking a course for high school credit.
Exemptions for Qualifying ELL Asylees and Refugees • Amendment allows the exemption of certain qualifying English language learner (ELL) asylees and refugees from being administered a STAAR assessment in grades 3-8 beginning with the 2012-2013 school year. • Exemption does not apply to the TELPAS program.
15% Course Grade Requirement • Delays the implementation date for the 15% course grade requirement by one year – until 2013-2014 school year. • Does not prohibit a school district from including scores on STAAR EOC assessments in a student’s final course grade
Adoption of Test Security Supplement of 2013 • This supplement describes the security procedures and guidelines, including test administration procedures and training activities that school districts will be required to follow to ensure validity, reliability, and security of assessments.

2013-2014 Lessons • We are getting 13-14 versions of lessons ready for posting to the public site. • This also means that these are the same lessons we are providing for districts to use next school year. • We normally wait until around June 1 to post next year's lessons, but we are moving that up this year for transparency sake.
Launch of Public Site • A time line for launch of the new public lesson site and lessons will be forthcoming.
