Classroom Routine • 8.55am school starts • 3pm home time • Toilet Breaks • Uniform • Healthy breaks
Parents • Please send in an absence note the day your child returns to school or if your child is in school late • Inform the school when someone other than the designated known adult intends to collect their child or if they are going to a different address (have you filled in the form?) • Report to the office when you visit the school eg.. collect your child for an appointment

Guided Reading • To allow pupils to grow as an independent reader and develop strategies for unknown words • To ensure that pupils understand what they are reading through comprehension style questioning. • GUIDED READING TIME AT HOME IS VITAL.
Linguistic Phonics • Six stage programme that works alongside our reading to provide pupils with skills for oral and written language activities. • See leaflets for more information.
Homework • Reinforces the curriculum • Provided the opportunity to see what your child is covering in class • Take time to go over the homework • Please sign each homework (maybe even write a comment) • See leaflet for more information
Assessments/ Parental Interviews • NILA and NINA:Northern Ireland Literacy and Numeracy Assessments. • All year 4-7 pupils take part • Parental interviews will take place at the end of October to discuss results
