Team Members Navigate Orlando Health Process Improvement • Process improvements are the techniques used in improving the operations of a company or an organization • Seeking to learn the causes of a negative result and setting a process in place to correct the problem
Why Team Member Involvement? • Team members know the job best • Improve efficiency and quality of care • Build confidence and initiate communication
Process Improvement A process improvement plan includes steps and decisions that are needed to accomplish a goal. • Establish the overall objective; reason for improvement • Identify the root cause of the failure • Create a solution/plan • Rapid cycle test; request feedback • Implementation of PI
Process Improvement Steps- How it works! • A department PI committee is established, consisting of team members and a facilitator. • Team Members submit suggestions • Committee Members review all suggestions • Determination made for Dept. implementation or referral to Corp.
Notification to Team Members • Team members are notified regarding their process improvement suggestion • Suggestion has been forwarded to the Corporate PI Committee for review
Corporate PI • Department newsletter published reviewing all submissions received • Corporate PI spreadsheet for review
Corporate PI • Access Manager facilitates Corporate PI Committee • All Dept. Facilitators meet monthly to review submissions • Corporate implementation impacts systems and forms
