Easily transfer address books and groups from Groupwise to Google without worrying about duplicates. Step-by-step instructions for exporting, saving, and importing contacts and groups to Google for efficient organization.

Open the Address Book in Groupwise • Ignore address books named: • Novell LDAP • Outlook • Mobile • For all other address books • Right click the address book • Select “Export • Save the file to your desktop with a name you’ll recognize
NOTE: • Throughout the following steps, do not worry about having duplicate contacts if you import multiple address books or groups that contain the same contacts. • Google handles contacts gracefully and will not duplicate contacts (as long as the contacts are indeed identical) .
To export your groups • Select the group • Select all contacts in the group • Right click, select “Export” • Save it with a name you’ll recognize
Importing contacts to Google • Go to your ECBOE Gmail • Select “Contacts” from the liston the left • In the upper-right corner, click “Import” • For each address book: • Select the file you want to import • Click the “Import” button
For Groups • Go through the same import process • Make sure you select the box for importing the contacts into a group • If you leave the dropdown box on “New group…” it will prompt you to name the group after clicking the “Import button”
