  3. Listening • Give your complete attention to whatever group member is speaking. • Show your group members that you value their thoughts.

  4. Responding to Group Members • Expand on other group members’ ideas. • Share your own thoughts and feelings about your group members’ ideas. • Have conversations about what you are reading.

  5. Clarifying • Probe to understand each others’ ideas better. • Tell me more about… • What do mean….? • Why do you think…?

  14. In class: Due: F R I D A Y S • You will complete a reading chart every day as you are reading. • Bring your reading charts with you when you meet in lit circles. • Turn reading charts in on Fridays for a grade.
