The following discussion is usually one of the favorite days in class (according to all of my students). In fact, it usually goes so long that we have to finish it up over two class periods. • In order for this to work, I need you to keep the following in mind: • Open-minded and respectful (religion) • Patient and participatory • Honest and safe Agree or Disagree?
I will display a statement on the board. All of these statements are related to themes/issues discussed in Hamlet. The right side of the classroom (my right) will be for those who agree with the statement on the board. The left side of the classroom will be for those who disagree with the statement on the board. There is NO middle. Just go to the side that you are leaning most towards and make a decision. Please remember: The same people can’t always be chosen to speak. Study up! The study guide is worth 5 pts on test day. Don’t forget Vocab 8 (also on Thurs.) If possible, grab your own copy of Hamlet from any local bookstore (new or used—No Fear Shakespeare is fine!) by Monday. Homework
