Inferencing Inferencing is like putting clues together to see what the big picture is. For Example: My friend is screaming. I infer that she is mad. Something smells good in the kitchen. I Infer that something is baking in the oven. It is wet outside. I infer that it rained.
Predicting Predicting is like thinking what is going to happen next. We all think differently. We all have different schema. For Example: Bob fell down a river full of sharks. I predict that he is going To die. But someone else might think the sharks won’t bother him. Jenny is going to ride her bike of the ramp. I predict she is going To make it and not fall. But someone else might think at the end she will break her leg.
Synthesizing Synthesizing is taking something(Song, Book, Picture) and make it your own. For Example: Is made into: Is made into: Is made into: Is made into:
Visualizing Visualizing is seeing in your head what is going on in the text. If you can’t visualize what is going in the book, than you are lost. You do not know what is going on. For Example: Jenny was walking on a field full of flowers. Her hair was blowing in the breeze. See was walking and sniffing the air. She felt like she would never leave. It’s like everything she has ever gotten. I might see her like this: Some one else might see her as this:
Summarizing Summarizing is taking a story and Adding just the main points into your summary. For Example: A boy moved into a house and got 4 pets. I could just say: A boy moved into a house and got pets. I’m not telling all the details in this summary.
