Church History Reformation of Jehu • Commanded by God to destroy Ahab’s family (2 Kgs. 9:4-10) • Began immediately – 2 Kings: • Killed Jehoram (9:24) • Killed Jezebel (9:33) • Had 70 sons of Ahab killed (10:7-8) • Killed in Samaria all that remained of Ahab (10:17) • Killed Ahaziah (9:27) • Killed 42 brothers of Ahaziah (10:14) • Killed Baal worshippers (10:25)

  2. Church History Reformation of Jehu Fell Short • Did not restore true worship (2 Kgs. 10:29-31) • Went back only as far as Jeroboam’s false religion • Corrected some wrongs, but kept others • Modern reformation movement followed same pattern
