  2. Born August 5, 1930 In Wapakoneta, Ohio _____________________ When he was 6 he flew in an airplane for the first time, that’s when he begun his thrill for flying. Fact: This is not Neil Armstrong

  3. When he was 16 he became a civilized pilot for NAC which soon became NASA __________________ He was trained at Purdue University in 1955

  4. He spent 7 years as a pilot: testing aircrafts to find out their ability. Then in 1962 he was accepted in the astronaut program, training to go into space. *7 years later he took his life thrilling journey to the moon.*

  5. One small step for man and one giant step for mankind. Neil set up a plaque on the moon that read, “we come in peace for all mankind.”

  6. 1 brother and 1 sister. Lance and June. Wife: Janet Shearon

  7. Left NASA in 1971 Moved his family back to Ohio. Taught at the University of Cincinnati for 7 years. Teaching aerospace engineering. In 1978 he was one of the first six recipients of the Congressional Space Medal of Honor. And now he is retired and he is 78.
