Stood 150 ft. tall with sculptural reliefs—origin of the word mausoleum—Persian Empire 351 BC Built by Queen Artemisia in tribute to her husband, also her brother. Legend says she drank his ashes. Building stood for 17 centuries. Artifacts and marble statues are in the British Museum.
